How the Biometric Verification System Works?
According to the new procedure, in order to get a SIM customers has to follow these steps.

  • Visit the service center/franchise with your original CNIC.
  • The operator will check your CNIC against NADRA’s database to confirm the authenticity of card and number of SIMS already issued.
  • If the customer qualify to get a new SIM, operator will ask for the thumb impression on the electronic machine, that will verify the identity or card holder.
  • Customer will be provided with an active SIM after paying the charges.

It merits mentioning here that the new verification system will be installed in all service centers, franchises and retailers with in an year. After the completion of process the current 789 verification system will be abandoned.

Zong will implement the new system in its all service centers tomorrow and hopefully other telecom operators will get it installed at their service centers till Saturday, before the deadline given by PTA expires.
