Telcos Lost Rs. 1.8 Billion in Revenues for Remaining Offline During Ashura

Cellular mobile operators had to bear a collective revenue loss of Rs. 1.8 billion for shutting down the services in over 80 cities on 9th and 10th of Moharram. Telcos Asked to Start Rolling Out Biometric System for SIM Verification

Mobile Phone Users in Pakistan Reach 129.6 Million

Mobile phone users in Pakistan reached 129.6 million at the end of September 2013, said a statistical report published by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority. Cellular teledensity reached all-time high level of 72.27 percent, up from 71.78 percent in July 2013.
