Xperia Z1 compact features a 4.3-inch display and has a slightly less resolution, which is 720p as compared to the original 1080p. Other than that nearly all the hardware specifications are the same, Z1 compact is packed with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset and 2GB of RAM. Z1 compact also features the much highlighted 20.7-megapixel camera, with a 2-megpaxiel snapper on the front.

Z1 compact runs on the same OS, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and has Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth. Due to the small screen the battery capacity has been reduced and as compared to Z1, the Z1 compact has 2300mAh battery instead of 3000mAh. According to Sony’s claims this phone has the best battery timings.

Sony clearly mentioned that the compact name is to represent the fact that it is actually just a compact version with almost similar hardware inside.

Final pricing details haven't been made public yet but Sony has announced that Z1 compact will be cheaper than Xperia Z1. Key smartphone accessories including QX100 lens and Sony SmartWatch 2 will be available for Z1 Compact.
