The lens uses a tiny wireless chip and glucose sensor which collects readings of glucose once per second. The sensor could eliminate the need for diabetics to prick the fingers and take blood for glucose levels.

Google states that it has no intention of selling this device yet, rather it is looking for partners to bring the device to market. Once this device begins mass production it should be a welcome news for more than 380 million people worldwide with diabetes.
