United Mobile has launched its latest flagship smartphone Voice X5 today. The company claims that it is the first device featuring octa-core processor in Pakistan.

Just in case you haven’t heard of it before, Voice is a mobile phone brand launched by United Mobile — a well known distributor of Nokia phones in Pakistan. Voice smartphone/feature phones are actually “China made phones” re-branded and sold in Pakistan, just like QMobile.

The key features of the new Xtreme X5 smartphone are:

  • 5-inch 1080p display with pixel density of 440ppi
  • 1.7GHz octa-core processor
  • 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage
  • 13-megapixel camera with Dual LED and 5-megapixel front camera
  • 2000 mAh battery with low consumption technology
  • Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS

The phone takes most of its design inspiration from Xiaomi MI-2, infact the UI of the phone seems very similar. It also incorporates some elements from Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. The touch screen of this phone is quite responsive and the build quality is also satisfactory. We are not sure if the octa-processor lives upto the expectation but the swiping of screens and regular apps runs smoothly on this phone.

The 2000mAh battery seems to be a deal breaker though, as the octa-core processor and 5-inch screen will consume more power and you will have to charge the device multiple times a day. But according to the company claims their new power saving technology will provide you good battery timings.

Pricing & Availability:
This phone is available with one year warranty of United Mobile all over Pakistan and comes a hefty price tag of Rs. 39,000. Talking to TGW, United Mobile’s country manager, Mr. Ali Yousuf told that the price tag is higher due to the octa-core processor, as it is relatively a new technology costs more. He assured that unlike other companies screen, body, camera and batttery are also insured under one year warranty.

So what do you think, Voice can beat all the international brands as well as local brands like QMobile and G5? Do share your opinion in the comments. We will try to review this device in the coming weeks with a quick hands-on un-boxing video, so keep checking back.

When it was first introduced there was no option to share this video with your friends, and you have to do it the hard way; download the video and then re-upload it to Facebook. But when the folks at Facebook realized its going to cost them extra space, they have added the share feature and then everyone just went crazy — sharing this video with their friends and family.

Usually we upload all kinds of stuff on Facebook and some of that is totally embarrassing. You might agree that the photos you have upload some 3-4 years ago look kind of stupid now, and imagine if Look Back feature those photos. So here’s a good news, now you can pick and choose photos that will appear in that video. There’s a limited choice but you can at least omit the photos you don’t want your friends to see in the video. Give a try and share your experience in the comments section below.
